A paleo diet typically consists of food like lean meats, fruits, vegetables, and nuts, and stays away from grains and dairy products.

Paleo diets are a great way to lose or maintain weight and can be followed as a way to prep food in advance. For a better idea of what a day of paleo eating might look, like check out this example provided by the Mayo Clinic:

  • Breakfast. Broiled salmon and cantaloupe.
  • Lunch. Broiled lean pork loin and salad (romaine, carrot, cucumber, tomatoes, walnuts, and lemon juice dressing).
  • Dinner. Lean beef sirloin tip roast, steamed broccoli, salad (mixed greens, tomatoes, avocado, onions, almonds, and lemon juice dressing), and strawberries for dessert.
  • Snacks. An orange, carrot sticks, or celery sticks.

Now that you know the basics of the paleo diet, check out these recipes you can start whipping up in the kitchen today!
